Lord Of The Rings & The Hobbit: ultimate box set revealed

It’s been a long, long time coming, but finally, a massive boxset of all of the Middle Earth films has been revealed. And it looks like it’s going to be a bit of a treat. An expensive one, too.

The 30-disc set will bring together all three Lord Of The Rings movies and all three The Hobbit films, each in their extended edition form. And there’s a bumper crop of new bonus features too. According to Amazon.com, we’re getting nearly an extra hour of footage from The Hobbit, and 34 hours of bonus features. For Lord Of The Rings, more than 33 hours of extra material and about two hours of extended scenes are included.

Lots of this will be held over from previous sets, but there’s going to be a fair amount of new stuff too, it seems.

No retail price has been announced, and no release date listed. But we’re expecting the set this side of Christmas…
