PlayStation 4 and Xbox One bundles: best deals on Amazon now

When I was a kid, the rival consoles of the hour were the Sega MegaDrive and the Nintendo 64. Those days are now behind us (although you can still buy those classic consoles), with the ‘which one do you have?’ console conflict now firmly being a face-off between Sony and Microsoft.

The PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One are their current contenders, and our chums at Amazon have some very reasonable prices for whichever one you fancy. Or hey, why not get both and make your home a no-man’s land in the console war?

Here’s what they’re offering…

And just a quick note: our site gets a bit of support if you click the links in this article. It’s totally your choice, but if you fancy clicking a few times we’ll be very happy.

PS4: just the basic console

If you’re looking to buy a PlayStation 4 console, you’ll want to click this link. It’ll take you to Amazon’s main PS4 product page, where you can see all the current options for purchasing one.

The best price right now is on the 500GB black version, which could be yours for just £215.40.

If you’d rather have a white version of the 500GB console (pictured above), perhaps to match some lovely carpets you’ve got, it’ll only cost an extra quid and a bit. The current price at the time of writing is £216.44.

Or you could treat yourself to loads more storage (which is handy, if you prefer downloaded content to big pile of discs on a shelf) with the 1TB version, which is priced right now at £249.99.

Just to be clear: you can get to all those products by clicking on the link at the top of this section.

Xbox One: just the basic console

There are also a few options if you want to buy an Xbox One console. The most basic version is the 500GB edition (pictured), which you can buy for £224.99 at this link.

If you’re after more storage, the 1TB options are priced at £239.95 for a black one or £247.11 for a white one, at the time of writing. The link for that one is right here.

There’s also something called the Xbox One Elite, which has snazzy chrome-y sort of finish and a different drive. That one currently costs £290, it has 1TB of storage, and can be found here.

Please note that the Xbox One Elite is not the 4K-ready upgrade to the Xbox One. That’s called the Xbox One S, and we’ll get to it later on.

PS4 bundles

Let’s be honest, though, who wants a brand new console without any games to play on it? This is the first link to click if you’re interested in PS4 bundles.

Once you’ve followed that link, you’ll see loads of options. For £306.99, you could get a 1TB console with three games and one Blu-ray movie. The games are LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Overwatch, and the incredibly fun car football game Rocket League. The film is Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

On that paged linked above you can click around, using the little boxes above the product description, to find other deals. You could get the 1TB PS4 with The Force Awakens on Blu-ray and LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens for £249.99. That’s literally the same price that the 1TB console on its own would cost. Go figure!

The Star Wars bundle on the 500GB black version costs £243. There is also a Call Of Duty: Infinite Warfare bundle (£239.99), a FIFA 17 bundle (£249.99), a Horizon: Zero Dawn bundle (£249.99), a Mass Effect Andromeda bundle (with a steelbook for the game) for £249.99, and a bundle including The Last Guardian, which is also priced at £249.99. All those ones are on the page linked above.

Other PS4 bundles include a Watch Dogs 2 one priced at £239.99, and a Grand Theft Auto V one priced at £260. Those two have their own product pages, for some reason.

Xbox One bundles

If you go to this product page right here, you’ll find a few different bundle options for the Xbox One.

By clicking around in the boxes above the product description, you can check out the deals. You’ll find a bundle with Tom Clancy’s The Division (priced at £256), one with Rise Of The Tomb Raider (which is sold out at the time of writing), and a limited edition 1TB blue console with Forza racing thrown in (which is pictured above and priced £289).

There is also a gorgeous silver and black limited edition 1TB console, which we used as the main picture at the top of this article. It comes with Halo 5, and its current price is £289.95. That one’s also on the webpage linked at the top of this section.

PS4 Pro

The PS4 Pro is the upgraded version of the PS4, designed to bring higher quality graphics to those lucky peeps with 4K TVs. The product page for the PS4 Pro is right here.

On that page, you’ll find the usual plethora of options. Just the 1TB PS4 Pro on its own would cost you £349. There are Call Of Duty: Infinite Warfare, The Last Guardian and Horizon: Zero Dawn bundles, but at the time of writing they’ve all sold out.

At that same webpage, you’ll also see options to buy a 1TB PS4 Pro with a Sony Bravia 4K TV. A 49 inch telly bundle is currently priced at £886.11, a 55 inch one is £1006.11, and a 65 inch one is £1,435.11.

It’s worth noting that the PS4 Pro cannot play 4K Blu-rays, but this next thing can…

Xbox One S

It’s come as a bit of a shock to this writer just how cheap the Xbox One S – the upgraded Xbox One, which can play 4K Blu-rays and stream 4K content – has become. It’s actually cheaper than the basic black version of the Xbox One.

This is the link to the Xbox One S 500 GB console bundles page, where you’ll find a variety of options. The cheapest is the Minecraft bundle, which comes with the building-based game and a 500GB console, and clocks in at £206.46.

Your other options for an Xbox One S 500 GB console bundle include the Battlefield bundle (£208.99), the FIFA 17 bundle (£209.85), the Forza Horizon 3 bundle (£246.11) and another FIFA 17 bundle (which comes with a second controller, and has a price of £219.99).

For a 1TB Xbox One S bundle, with the extra storage on the console, you’re looking at a steeper price. There’s a FIFA bundle priced at £255.24, a Gears Of War 4 bundle priced at £257.99, and a Halo Wars 2 bundle priced at £264.69.

PlayStation VR

The latest new trick that Sony has shown off is the Virtual Reality capabilities of the PlayStation VR headset thingy. The device would currently cost you £346.71 at this link.

To play the VR games, you would also need the PlayStation Move camera, which currently costs £39.99 over on this link. There’s also the PlayStation Move motion controllers, which work with a number of the VR games. You can buy a pair of them now for £69 at this link.

Alternatively, there is also a PS4 Pro ‘VR starter kit’ bundle, which includes a 1TB PS4 Pro, the VR headset, two motion controllers, an extra DualShock controller and the VR camera. It costs £849, and you can click here to go to its product page.

All the available PSVR games can be found at this link.
