Showtime are flat-out refusing to give anything away about their revival season of Twin Peaks, and we wouldn’t have it any other way. Chances are, the content of the show is so bizarre that we’d be unlikely to make much sense of it all anyway.
The first two episodes are due to screen at the Cannes Film Festival next week, though, and it’s then that the cast and crew will have to finally lift the lid on what’s in store for us when we return to the mysterious town over two decades on, to catch up with its equally strange inhabitants.
The festival’s website has so far played along with the tight-as-a-drum promotional material for the show, but they have posted four brand new pictures from Twin Peaks, and it’s location, location, location…and Agent Cooper. You can check them out by clicking on the main image above; that’ll fire up our gallery.
But it looks like Dale will definitely be returning to the Black Lodge later this month (if he ever in fact left):
We are so beyond excited for this.
Here was the latest teaser trailer we had, which gave us brief glimpses at a lot of returning characters…
Now if you’ll excuse us, we’re off to get ourselves a cup of coffee. Black as midnight on a moonless night. More news as we have it.
Twin Peaks season 3 release date
Sunday the 21st of May is the date to mark in your diary. That’s when Twin Peaks’ first new episodes in over twenty years will debut on Showtime, in the USA, at 9pm.
The two-part season premiere will be simulcast on Sky Atlantic, for UK viewers, at 2am on the morning of Monday the 22nd of May. Or you could wait until 9pm for the repeat, if you don’t fancy an outrageously late night.
