Just a slight delay to tell you about. The Wreck-It Ralph sequel, entitled Ralph Breaks The Internet, has seen its release date move back by eight months. The movie had been scheduled to be with us next March, and instead, it’s been knocked back to November 21st 2018. It’s taken the slot of another upcoming Walt Disney Animation Studios production, Gigantic, but that’s also facing a delay. In its case, it’s been put back a further two years, to November 25th 2020.
More on both films as we hear it…
From July 2016
It wasn’t much of a secret, but Walt Disney Animation Studios has now formally confirmed the news: Wreck-It Ralph 2 is happening.
The film is once again being directed by Rich Moore, who helmed the first movie, and who co-directed the recent Zootropolis. He’s being joined by co-writer Phil Johnston, who is also co-directing this time around. John C Reilly and Sarah Silverman are both back on voicing duties.
The film has been earmarked for a March 9th 2018 release date, which means that Walt Disney Animation Studios has pushed back Gigantic to November 21st 2018. The plot this time will see Ralph in the world of the internet, with the new movie set in the present day.
Expect more voice casting announcements in due course. But for now, Ralph is very much on his way back. Here’s the piece of art that Disney has released as part of the Wreck-It Ralph 2 announcement…
