Game Of Thrones season 7: Ed Sheeran set to appear

After all the excitement of the teaser clip, the first poster and the air date announcement of last week, we’ve now got one more Game Of Thrones season 7 news story to add to our massive always-being-updated hub article.

The BBC and many other sources are reporting that Ed Sheeran, the British singing sensation, will have some sort of role in Game Of Thrones season 7.

The news emerged from the SXSW festival, where showrunners David Benioff and Dan Weiss confirmed that they’ve booked Mr Sheeran after trying to nab him for a while. The singer then took to Twitter to confirm the story, saying, “guess the cat’s out of the bag.”

Sheeran isn’t the first musician to appear in the show. Members of Coldplay, Mastodon, Of Monsters And Men and Sigur Ross have popped up in Westeros before. And of course, Jerome Flynn of Robson & Jerome recurs in the cast as Bronn.

It remains to be seen in which way Sheeran will appear. He could play a ditty in the background, or portray an actual character, or simply pop up as a White Walker or something like that.

We’ll keep bringing you the latest Thrones news as it happens. Here’s all the stuff from last week…
