Netflix's Castlevania: the first poster

Konami’s iconic vampire-stuffed gaming franchise Castlevania is becoming a Netflix series. Adi Shankar – creator of that Power/Rangers short – is producing the animated show.

Today, the first poster arrived online via Facebook. Here it is…

Here’s how Shankar first confirmed his involvement in the show, also on Facebook…

Shankar also spoke to Collider, saying, “I’m personally guaranteeing that this is going to be the best fucking video game adaptation ever made to date … I’ve seen it, and it’s fucking amazing.” He also mentioned that “The show has a Game of Thrones vibe to it.”

Shankar also confirmed to Collider that author and comic book writer Warren Ellis has penned the scripts. “You know how most TV shows have writers rooms and stuff? This one doesn’t. Warren just wrote all the scripts. It’s totally his voice. He’s amazing”, Shankar enthused.

And this press release paragraph was shared by CBR

“Inspired by the classic video game series, Castlevania is a dark medieval fantasy following the last surviving member of the disgraced Belmont clan, trying to save Eastern Europe from extinction at the hand of Vlad Dracula Tepe himself. The animated series is from Frederator Studios, a Wow! Unlimited Media company, written by best-selling author and comic book icon Warren Ellis and executive produced by Warren Ellis, Kevin Kolde, Fred Seibert and Adi Shankar.”
