The Gifted: big movie cameo rumoured for X-Men TV series

The next live-action X-Men TV series out of the gate will be The Gifted. It was written by Burn Notice‘s Matt Nix, and X-Men film franchise veteran Bryan Singer shot the pilot.

The show will follow a family with mutant children going on the run in a world where Sentinels exist. Stephen Moyer and Amy Acker play the parents in said family.

Today, we’re hearing that a star from the movies may appear in the show. Only scroll below our spoiler squirrel, Daphne, if you want to know who it is…

The aforementioned Mr Moyer was asked at an event, which CBR reported from, whether his wife and former True Blood co-star Anna Paquin, who played Rogue across multiple X-Men movies, could end up appearing in the show.

“Well, obviously, she’s in the X-Men universe, obviously she could possibly [join],” Moyer said. “I don’t quite understand the timeline, because obviously the X-Men timeline is very, very specific, so never say never, but… I don’t want to say anything that gets me into trouble.”

Hmm. Does that line about getting into trouble mean he’s under orders not to mention something? We’ll have to wait for further info. But one thing’s for sure: having a major face from the movies could help The Gifted garner a lot more hype. It could be a lot of fun for the fans, too.

We’ll let you know as we hear more.

This show, by the sounds of it, won’t be linked to Noah Hawley’s Dan Stevens-starring series Legion, which is housed at FX and was recently renewed for a second season.
